I have to admit, I love a good challenge. One of my favorite pastimes is cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, so when I was given the opportunity to come up with a few recipes for Tyson Any'tizer Boneless Chicken Wyngz I was excited! These little chunks of chicken come in a variety of flavors that stand wonderfully alone or even with a special dipping sauce, so I decided to create a meal out of each of the two flavors I tried. With an open mind, I tried each flavor first, then decided how I would use them in a recipe.

Two of the newest flavors for the Tyson Any'tizer Boneless Chicken Wyngz are Sweet Garlic and Mango Habanero. These are absolutely delicious on their own! Each flavor is very distinct and delicious. Once you bite in, the meat is tender and juicy. It's everything you want  in an appetizer or snack. Now, it was time to brainstorm.
For the Sweet Garlic Glazed Wyngz, I decided to create a deli style sandwich. The Chicken was cooked as directed then cut in half, served atop caramelized onions over a homemade marinara sauce served in a toasted sandwich roll with melted mozzarella cheese. It's everything you want in an Italian style sandwich, and the Wyngz were also great served alone with the Marinara as a dipping sauce. It's reminiscent of Chicken Parmesan in a bun.
Marinara Sauce Ingredients:
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dry basil
  • 1 tablespoon dry oregano
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes
  • 6 ounce can tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • salt and pepper, seasoned to taste

Sandwich Ingredients:
  • 3 medium yellow onions, cut into rings
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 package Tyson Any'tizer Boneless Wyngz, Sweet Garlic Glazed flavor
  • marinara sauce
  • mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • sandwich rolls
Marinara Sauce Directions:
  • in a dutch oven or large pot heat the olive oil over medium heat
  • add onions and stir periodically until they begin to caramelize
  • add garlic and herbs, stir then let saute for a few minutes
  • add red wine, letting the flavors meld together for a few minutes
  • add the tomatoes, paste, and sugar. Stir.
  • season to taste with salt and pepper
  • bring to a simmer. Cook on low 1-2 hours, stirring every so often.

Sandwich Instructions:
  • In a large skillet heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add onions and stir periodically until they begin to caramelize (about 20 minutes, stirring more often at the end).
  • While onions are caramelizing, prepare chicken according to package instructions.
  • Once chicken is done, leave oven on.
  • On a baking sheet, begin to build the sandwich, on the bottom half spread marinara sauce, then cover top half with mozzarella slices.
  • Place baking sheet in the heated oven, let bake for 3 minutes or until cheese is just melted and bread is lightly toasted.
  • Remove baking sheet and add caramelized onions on top of the sauce.
  • Take 2-3 chicken pieces and cut them in half. Place on top of the onions.
  • Close sandwich, serve, and enjoy!
  • The Sweet Garlic Glazed Chicken Wyngz are great served alone with the marinara sauce.*
For my second recipe, I decided to make a big, colorful taco salad. I created a creamy dipping sauce that is also great alone with the Mango Habanero Wyngz and included it with my Mango Salsa for this dish. The Mango Habanero flavor does have a kick of spice, but the mango taste sweetens it out. I thought it would go perfectly with my mango salsa and the creaminess of my sour cream based sauce rounds it out, but that also has a kick of it's own. The salad pictured is big enough to be considered two servings.
Spicy Sour Cream Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sour cream (I use light sour cream, but you can go either way)
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Taco Salad Ingredients:
  • 1 package Tyson Any'tizer Boneless Wyngz, Mango Habanero flavor
  • tortilla chips
  • green leaf lettuce, cut into shreds
  • 2 avocados, sliced
  • mango salsa
  • 1 cup sliced olives
  • spicy sour cream
  • 3 roma tomatoes, diced and seeds removed
  • Mexican blend shredded cheese
Directions:
  • Prepare Mango Habanero Wyngz according to package instructions.
  • Combine all ingredients for spicy sour cream, stir until smooth and keep refrigerated until ready to use.
  • Build taco salad using each ingredient.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • The Mango Habanero Chicken Wyngz are great served alone with the spicy sour cream*
