A few months back I discovered this delicious
Sticky Bun Breakfast Ring on
Pinterest. It was a pretty popular pin that was making its rounds on all of my friends boards, so of course I repinned. I had to try it, and it was
so good! It's basically what most of us would recognize as Monkey Bread. This would be perfect to serve with brunch on Christmas Morning or as a snack to have just lingering on one of your serving tables. Kids and adults both go nuts over this, and they always request I make more!
I did change it up just a bit, since I'm trying to eat healthy I quartered the biscuits to make the individual servings a lot smaller. Some of the measurements are a little different from the individual recipe, and I also used real maple syrup which takes this to a whole different level. The original poster has some
amazing photos though, I wish mine were that good! I know with food the photos can make ALL the difference in the world. Hopefully you enjoy this, it never lasts long in our house. I think this batch lasted all of two whole hours!
Ingredients:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt butter, then add syrup. Whisk together in a bowl until combined. Set aside. |
In a separate bowl combine the sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Mix until well combined. |
Spray or lightly grease a bundt or fluted pan. Pour about half the syrup mixture in the bottom of the pan. Then sprinkle about half of the sugar/nut mixture over it. |
Now add the biscuits to form a ring. You can leave them whole, or quarter them like I did. It's totally up to you! Pour the second half of syrup over the biscuits. |
Sprinkle evenly with the remaining sugar/nut mixture. Place in the oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. |
Perfection! Let cool for about 5-10 minutes. |
Once cooled a bit, invert onto a cake dish or plate. Let cool at least another 5-10 minutes. The pieces are sticky and very hot! Kids will be tempted to grab a piece, so be careful! |
The butter, sugar, cinnamon and syrup caramelize while cooking and taste amazing. Deliciously sticky! |
Once cooled just enough, you can serve! |
So tempting, nobody will be able to eat just one. |
See? That's my daughter, RiRi, picking away! |
This is less than an hour after removing from the oven! |
Enjoy! |
